IU uses a variety of methods to provide emergency and safety information, including sirens, public address, web pages, building stewards, residence hall assistants, broadcast and electronic media, and a consolidated communications system. Collectively, these capabilities are called "IU-Notify". Quick, effective communication is key not only to ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, it is also crucial to many, if not all, business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency preparedness efforts.
The Business Continuity Program staff works with staff on all eight IU campuses to facilitate effective use of these systems and coordinate the collective effort necessary to maintain a safe environment at IU.
